Welcome!

My name is Rachel McKinney, I want to thank you for taking the time to come and listen to my story and how living by Faith has continued to lead me in a contented and abundant life! At the age of seven I gave my heart to the Lord and now it is 2016 and I am in my 82nd year. The information you will read is hopefully informative and exciting. This blog was started a few years ago just to talk about losing weight and being healthy and it's true I have been working on my health and my body for many years. But now as I grow older I find that my spiritual life even more than I ever realized before is meshed (and has always been) with the physical. I now know that it is all about "letting go and letting God" run my life. This gives me peace, joy and contentment as I know that God is in charge of it all!! Feel free to comment if you wish.

Finally, my food is on track!

I have been trying to lose weight since I was 7. Now more recently, I was doing just great and had lost over 50 pounds and gotten down to 195. Then in September I went on vacation and although I tried to remember my food, I gained 10 pounds. Since that time I have been trying to lose. My trainer, Justin Silver, (www.justfitnesstraining.com) finally said, don't you think you should do a food diary to see what you are eating that is not working? I hated "food diaries." I had tried them in the past and I never knew what the calories were, the carbs, the fat, the protein. Then the math!!!

I happened to pick up a Prevention magazine (www.prevention.com) and learned that they have a free food diary called "My health tracker." You just have to register. I also found a site that will analyze recipes (caloriecount.about.com). I also started to eat 6 times a day, about every two hours. Usually around a cup of food so I am never hungry. Well, I started on 12/8 at 205 lb. and as of now I am down to 199.4. I am eating better than I ever did. For example, today I am eating:

Meal 1: 1/2 Turkey, potato, tomato, mushroom, onion, egg white scramble.
Meal 2: 4 oz. Sauerkraut and 4 oz. pork with 1/2 C. apple sauce.
Meal 3: 1/2 Turkey fry (see above)
Meal 4: Protein drink with 1/2 C low fat milk (1 C water) and 2 Tb. ground flax seeds
Meal 5. 6 oz. sea bass (broiled) with toss salad (1/2 tsp olive oil) & 1 oz. blueberries
Meal 6: 1 C. Lamb from Africa (lamb, brown rice, diced tomato, mushrooms & onions)

All this adds up to Calories: 1,239 - Carbs: 81.6 grams - Fat: 43.7 g. - Protein: 131.6 g.

This breaks down percentage wise to: Carbs: 26% - Fat: 31% - Protein: 43%.

Since I started I am averaging: Calories: 1,199 - Carbs: 28% - Fat: 32% - Protein: 40%

Wow! And how could anyone feel deprived eating like the above. I cook a whole recipe and then package it in 1 Cup portions that I eat for one of my meals. For the fish I broiled two 6 oz. pieces and then saved the 2nd one for another meal.

One of my problems, always, was that I ate the same foods every day. My trainer kept telling me to vary what I ate so my body would be surprised. Since I am cooking and have on hand various 1 Cup meals (as well as fresh greens and veggies) every day is different!

I just felt that I had to share this with my friends. Of course, the basis of my health are the glyconutrients  that I take with every meal. I portion my supplements into three and then at each meal I divide them again into 2. I also take 1 tsp. of the eight powdered saccarides with each meal. Most of you wouldn't need this much but I am now 72 and have had many health challenges in the past. My body need all the help it can get.

Let me hear from you with comments and questions and I'll try to keep posting.

To Choose or Not to Choose

As I continue to lose weight and inches, it is still sometimes a struggle. Chocolate with nuts candy with 0 sugar (but not 0 calories) are something I have to remember not to choose. Deep fried zucchini covered with a rice batter (I'm gluten free) is another rationaliztion. Mostly I eat chopped veggies with chicken or turkey and blueberries for the carb. The other day I cooked eggplant, zucchini, onions, canned tomatoes and ground turkey to make a great ratatouville with meat. But even if I'm doing great with my food, the need to "cheat" is not far away.

Since I am gluten free all of the grain products are not a part of my food. This has turned out to be good for me because I was a huge sandwich fan. I always choose to keep gluten free. But other choices are not so clear. Do I take that walk this morning? Do I watch portion controls? Do I stay away from the scale?

I do, though, always choose to enjoy life and to stay well. I take my glyconutrient products without fail and work out with a trainer three times a week. Because of this, the flow of energy I feel never fails me and mostly my food supports this wellness.

I talked with my friend the other day. She has alot of weight to lose and she told me that she was once again reminded that she has to choose to eat or not to eat this or that. Life is a choice. I reminded her that as she cuts down on sugar and other carbs, she can up the glyconutrients so that her energy will not go down.

Please post a comment and let us know how you choose life.

Keep on sharing the story!

I went last night to hear Dr. Dan Fouts, a Chiropractor from Florida. In 1996 he was asked by the Associate Pastor of his church to evaluate glyconutrients to see if it would help one of their members. This woman had a serious health challenge.  He went to see the scientist involved in discovering the glyconutrients to evaluate the products and was convinced that they might help this woman and at least they wouldn't harm her.  She had tremendous results and this set Dr. Fouts on a whole new career sharing the message of the quality of life found with these products.

The point of this is that these products don't cure anything but they do feed your body the necessary nutrients and will give you a great quality of life. I share these stories and write this blog because I have to tell everyone how their life can be changed. I don't have to make anyone believe me. I just have to share. It is up to each person who hears to accept or not.

When Suzann, my mentor,  shared the message with me I was very interested because I had been looking for something like this all my life. Other posts on this Blog tell what happened to me. Maybe you are looking for a better quality of life, too. If so, call me or email me.

What I looked like in 1994.

Thanks for viewing this post! We just arranged things on the blog and I put in an old picture. What's important about this is that I weighed just about the same as I weigh in the latest picture. But what a difference! In 1994 I had spent about a year on a no fat diet and was wearing size 16-18 in clothes. Soon after I started to gain weight again and then in 2001 I began to work with Dr. Diana Schwarzbein to get my metabolism working. It's been a long journey including working with a trainer for several years, "debugging" my gut and just overall trying.

The biggest part of my life that was missing was energy. I had been an adrenalin junky. I lived on diet coke and coffee. I had to have excitement or a crises at all times. My job as an Insurance Executive had been 24/7 and I went until I could no longer go and then slept for a day or two, only to begin the excitement again. I had a "fire" in my belly! When in February of 2003 I retired from my day to day job, I was ready to go. Dr. Schwarzbein had taken me off all diet coke and coffee and was working to heal my "burned out" adrenals. Slowly they began to function again without the "fix" but I still had no energy.

It wasn't until September of 2006 when I found Glyconutritionals that I started to "wake up." I regained the "fire" in my belly without the chemical crutch and with the help of a great trainer, Justin Silver of Just Fitness in LaQuinta, CA, I started to lose serious inches. My body took over burning the fat correctly and the fat burned in places that had resisted burning before. You can't measure a double chin but you can see from the pictures that this is one of the most visible results of the Glyconutritionals because I was of a similar weight in 1994! Now, however, I wore size 12-14.

I could go on and on about my increase in energy but I'll save that for a later post. If you will respond to my posts we can make this a meaningful blog for everyone interested in having a life - healthy, wealthy and happy!

How I got from there to here

I had many careers during my life: school teaching, real estate and Insurance, just to name a few. Never had time to marry and I had a constant concern for the size of my body. In my late 60s I decided to get very serious and began a quest to find the way to make my metabolism work. I weighed almost 260 and had a number of health challenges.

The key to my program was “good” nutrition. Within the parameters of my sugar limits. I ate veggies, fruit, lean protein and healthy fats. I was getting better in many ways and my weight was coming down but something always seemed to be missing.

Then I found Glyconutrients and other associated wellness products. Almost right away my energy quadrupled and I had much improved quality of life. I was working out with a trainer and suddenly I was shaping up differently. I went down two to three dress sizes. I was finally into a size 12 to 14 dress and I had to give away most of my wardrobe.

Although I have never before in my life been involved with a Network Marketing Company, I just had to get involved to spread my good news. To find out about these seemingly “magical” glyconutrients, you can email me. This is not “snake oil” but products that are based on science. As I said, you can either email me and I will contact you or you can cell me at 213/500-4058. Hope you want as great a quality of life as I have.
