Welcome!

My name is Rachel McKinney, I want to thank you for taking the time to come and listen to my story and how living by Faith has continued to lead me in a contented and abundant life! At the age of seven I gave my heart to the Lord and now it is 2016 and I am in my 82nd year. The information you will read is hopefully informative and exciting. This blog was started a few years ago just to talk about losing weight and being healthy and it's true I have been working on my health and my body for many years. But now as I grow older I find that my spiritual life even more than I ever realized before is meshed (and has always been) with the physical. I now know that it is all about "letting go and letting God" run my life. This gives me peace, joy and contentment as I know that God is in charge of it all!! Feel free to comment if you wish.

God can do anything!

20-21"God can do anything, you know—far more than you could ever imagine or guess or request in your wildest dreams! He does it not by pushing us around but by working within us, his Spirit deeply and gently within us."  This is from Ephesians 3 in the Message Bible and it comes near the end of a chapter where while sitting in jail, Paul is explaining about the wonderous riches of God that we have when we allow Christ to live in and through us.

As I sit here this morning I look at my life and I can truly say that God can do anything.  Maybe not on my time table but on God's.  This morning I have to hurry to eat breakfast and get dressed because this is my Silver Sneakers morning and I have to be there by 9:30 a.m.  Now I can't say that I love exercising but it is something I know I have to do in order to keep the blood and oxygen in my body flowing at a good clip.  The same is true about my morning time with the Lord. It is needed because I need to connect each day to the power source that runs my life.  Just as the blood and oxygen keep my body moving, the power of God flowing through my life keeps me on track to fulfill His love.

So as I live this day I know that God is working in me and through me to reach out and place me where I need to be and what I need to do.  This includes, for me, going to Silver Sneakers even though this is not what I thought was part of my "wildest dreams."
